The first paper from the group has been published in Advanced Science. In our review, we present a comprehensive dataset on tough hydrogels with extreme (fracture) mechanical properties, which have combined a wide variety of energy dissipation modes. The gathered data is decoded according to the water content of the individual samples. We further discuss outstanding hydrogel examples, trends, as well as applications and compare current cutting-edge materials with commercial ones.
